Fast Start
1. Go to the Island Center and scout for some slaves.
2. Go to your fields to produce some tobacco, or to your taverns to make some rum to make your guys happy. Also make weapons in your weaponries for your pirates. Keep in mind that pirates without weapons won't do a thing. Also keep an eye on your guys' happiness. It's easy to keep them happy but if you don't they will start leaving you.
3. Start by making some money by doing treasure hunts, wenching your hookers, extorting some merchant ships, or fishing.
4. When you have enough credits, scout for more slaves and pirates and repeat step number one.
5. When you feel adequately supplied, you can attack other players within range. Be careful as any player that is attacked, will have the opportunity to dish out some revenge. This is the Age of Piracy. Make sure that you know the waters, or you will end up walking the plank!
6. Don't forget to protect some of your bounty in the treasure cave, or you could end up penniless if someone attacks your island.
7. Join a Crew, as you won't be able to survive by yourself. Otherwise start your own.
8. Most of all, enjoy the game, but watch your back!
Rounds
Rounds will last approximately 10 days. After the round has ended, the game starts over. This means that you start from scratch. In other words, whatever you gained at the end of the round, will not be there for the new.
Credits and Reserves
Credits are vital to the pirate community, as they are used to execute all actions in the game. This includes attacking players, hiring pirates, wenching hookers, and building docks. You will receive credits every 10 minutes. The amount is determined by the settings of the respective round. You will also start the round with reserves. Reserves are credits that can be saved and utilized at any time within the round, without affecting the normal turns given every ten minutes. This is a good advantage as they cannot max your turns out. Reserves must be used in the round, as they will not carry over.
Networth
Ranks are determined on a pirate's networth. Networth is the numerical value of a player based on his possessions (gold, buildings, pirates, hookers, priests, slaves, ships weapons and narcotics).
Crews
Piracy Age is a simulation of the Pirate's Life. You can join crews - a group of people who believe in the same thing, have the same ideas or just trust each other. A Crew brings protection from other members and it gives you trust in other members. Trust and protection can save your life, but it can also get you killed. Crews have a size limit of 20 pirates / Crew.
Hire
In order to keep your Island under control, you'll need different types of crew members to perform all the different tasks and duties. To recruit crew members, just use your credits and make sure you have enough buildings to hold them.
Pirates
Pirates are units that would protect you and your crew, and would attack other pirates. Their main strengths are their intelligence at the time of performing an order and their weapons skills. They would kill and protect you.
Slaves & Hookers
Operatives are the kind of units that would work for you and produce different kind of goods. The operatives that could be part of your crew are:
- Hookers - work in your tavern and will get you gold if you wench them.
- Slaves - work on your Islands as your manpower. They are used to build buildings, produce tobacco and rum, collect some gold by doing some treasure hunts and fishing.
Priests
Piriests are units that can rescue you some of your wounded units during attacks. Their main strengths are their rescue power at the time of an attack and their weapons skills. They don't have any attack strength.
Buildings
You will be able to build the following buildings:
- Dungeons are used to hold your slaves.
- Barracks are used to hold your pirates.
- Ramparts are used to protect your Island.
- Docks are used to hold your ships.
- Taverns are used to hold your hookers and rum.
- Weaponries are used to hold your weapons.
- Tobacco Fields are used to hold your tobacco.
- Churches are used to hold your priests.
Happiness
Having your crew happy is one of the most important things that you need to look after. If your pirates, priests, slaves or hookers are not happy, they start leaving you as soon as you ask them to operate.
Your slaves, hookers and priests need some rum and tobacco to be happy. They would also need to have pirates to protect them on the Island which would make them happy as well.
Your Pirates need rum and tobacco to be happy. They insist to have from 1 weapon per pirate to be happy.
Black Market
In the black market you are able to get whatever you need for you crew. You're able to buy narcotics, weapons and ships. You can also sell your goods at the price you have decided. The item listed on sale will be available to the other players to buy. Therefore, your sales would have to be competitive enough to be bought.
- Narcotics are mainly used to make your crew happy. Your pirates need liquor and tobacco to be happy. Your slaves, hookers and priests need rum and tobacco to be happy too. Try to get a big stock of them.
- Weapons are used for attacks and are important for you pirates' happiness. You could get pistols, voller rifles, muskets and cannons. Here is the order of destruction strength of the weapons from least to most: pistols < voller rifles < muskets < cannons.
- War Ships (Brigantines & Galleons) are used to do a Board Ships or to steal other pirates' ships. The Brigantine only takes 200 persons and the Galleons take 500 persons.
- Transport Ships (Sloops & Caravel) are used to travel to other seas to attack other pirates. When you get your own transport ships you don't need to pay to move your men. The sloops can take up to 250 guys and the Caravels can take up 1,000 people.
- Fishing Ships (Fishing Rark & Dutch Flut) are used collect some gold by fishing. The fishing rark can take up to 50 guys and the Dutch Fluts can take up to 300 people.
Produce
Productions are part of your daily activities for your mens' consumption or for retail on the Black market. So you could use credits to produce rum or tobacco. Your slaves are the only units used for the production.
Collect
You could use some credits to collect gold by different means:
- Your fishing ships are used to get some gold by fishing
- You hookers are used to work in your brothels
- Your slaves are used to find some gold by doing treasure hunts
- Your pirates are used to get some gold by boarding ships
Gold and the Treasure Cave
Just like the real world, you have a bank account and a pocket. The gold you use anywhere is the gold you've got on you. However, keeping gold with you is risky. Another pirate can attack you and take whatever you have there. So, depositing a part of it in your treasure cave is a good idea. You are able to put 15% of your gold which will cost you 25 credits each time. You can withdraw it when you need it at anytime for free. You can also transfer gold to another pirate.
Attacking
There are 5 different types of attack. To attack a player, go on the pirate profile you want to attack and click the attack button. You can only attack players with 1/2 or up to 4 times your networth. We will automatically arm your pirates with the best weapons you got in order to have the most efficient attacks ever. There is a limit to the amount of times you can be hit. You can be hit 10 times every hour but the damage of each attack must equal at least 1% of your networth. If you win or tie the attacks, they do not count against you and the revenge hits do not count either.
- Island Invasions - Most popular attack. Invade your enemy's Island and whack his pirates and priests! You could also steal gold if you killed enough of his pirates
- Extort Crew - Invade your enemy's taverns and taverns and whack his pirates, priests, slaves and hookers! You will be able to kill some operatives if you killed enough of his pirates
- Pillage Narcotics - Steal narcotics from your opponent.
- Sabotage Weaponries - This attack is meant to steal weapons from your opponent.
- Steal ships - In order to steal someone's ships, you will need to make sure all his pirates are dead.
Revenge
The revenge gives you the chance to hit back when somebody attacks you. Whenever somebody attacks you, you will have a revenge (unlimited attacks) on him for 24hrs even if he is out of range. You could check your revenges in your mail box > revenges.
If somebody attacks you, you've got a revenge on him but he will get a revenge on you if you attack back.
Travel
Traveling is used for different purposes: running away from someone that is trying to kill you or traveling from and to your the sea where your Crew is located. Being in your own sea has pros and Cons. A pro is that your Crew offers you more protection in your home sea, a con is that its more likely for your enemies to find you!
